If you want to get things moving in your colon then I recommend taking psyllium husks. It’s a great source of fibre and helps remove all the old waste sitting in the bowels! A great addition for a colon detox.
What does it do?
It becomes a soft, bulky mass and acts like a broom sweeping the inside of the colon to help clean it of old debris.
Psyllium also binds toxins and removes them from the digestive tract.
It reduces the the amount of time waste sits in the colon by moving things along at a quicker pace( this lessens the chance of waste putrefying in the colon).
It also helps lower cholesterol!
It helps remove toxins produced by candida overgrowth in the intestines and is great to take if you are on a candida diet as it helps remove the candida organism too.
It also helps build up the friendly bacteria populations in the gut (great for anyone who’s been on a course of antibiotics).
Where to get it and how to take it?
It’s available at health shops and is relatively inexpensive. Health Connection and Nature’s choice are two brands to try. It’s usually found in the ground form which makes it easier to mix and drink.
The best way to take psyllium is to mix a heaped teaspoon into a glass of water or juice. Mix well and drink immediately before it starts to become jelly-like. It’s also best to take it on an empty stomach in the morn and wait about half an hour before you eat. You can also take it before any other meal during the day or just before bedtime.
Pysllium can also be added to smoothies for extra fibre and bulk.
Extra note on psyllium:
Psyllium is not habit forming and can be used safely on a regular basis. It’s also safe for pregant and lactating women.
